Basic functions for faster control of your shapes and objects.
When you select an object, a thing with arrows appears, it's called a Gizmo. You can use it to move and transform an object. This tool is not as simple as it seems at first glance. If you learn how to use all of its features, your workflow will be much easier. You can learn more about it here.
Transformation allows you to change the Position of an object in space, its Rotation, Scale, and Size.
Quite often it is necessary to change the size of an object or its rotation relative to some other point. And this point can be located absolutely anywhere.

👉 The transformation (Position, Rotation, Scale) of the object is relative to the Pivot point (Origin).

👉 Origin position and Gizmo rotation can be changed independently of the object itself. That is, the object will keep its position and rotation. To do this, you need to switch to Origin mode, read more here.

1
- origin position on each axis (mm
or inch
, depending on the unit selected in the menu)
2
- rotation angle on each of the axes
3
- object scale (default is 1
1
1
, which represents the original size and equals to 100%)
4
- object size (mm
or inch
, depending on the unit selected in the menu)
5
- apply position, rotation, scale and disable transformations:
Transforming an object is possible with the use of the control points. On each primitive shape you will see purple dots, which you can use to transform the object very quickly.
Ctrl + Z
Undo and redo go back and forth between actions, but do not view changes. There are 50 undo levels available. If you wish to look further back on the progress of your project, try using Version History.
Ctrl + D
With an object selected, use the Duplicate command to instantly create a copy of it in the same position. You will need to move the copy away from the original as they will initially overlap. Note that a number is added to the name of the duplicate copy.

💡 You can also copy an object by holding down the Alt
key and dragging any Gizmo element.
